Versace Watches: A Buyer's Guide to the Greca Logo Collection

Versace is the most overtly glamorous brand we stock. Where Gucci and Emporio Armani tone their watches down for daily wear, Versace leans into the Medusa head, the Greek-key Greca pattern and gold-tone hardware. If you are buying one, the decision is usually less about whether you want the look and more about which version suits you.

The Greca Logo family

Our range centres on the Greca Logo chronograph — a 43mm stainless steel case with three sub-dials, a quartz chronograph movement and 5 ATM water resistance. The Greca motif appears on the dial and, on some references, on the bracelet links.

Four colourways are in stock:

  • VEZ900521 — grey dial, grey steel — the most understated. Reads almost like a technical watch at a distance.
  • VEZ900221 — navy blue — the classic Versace palette and the easiest to wear with tailoring.
  • VEZ900121 — green dial — the most distinctive. Green is the colour that gets commented on.
  • VEZ900421 — gold and black — the dressiest, and the closest to the brand's runway aesthetic.

What 43mm actually feels like

43mm is firmly in large-watch territory, but it is not extreme. As a guide:

  • Wrist under 16cm — the case will overhang slightly; consider a smaller watch or accept the oversized look deliberately
  • Wrist 16–18cm — 43mm sits comfortably and looks proportionate
  • Wrist above 18cm — 43mm reads as a normal-to-large watch

Because the chronograph dial is busy, the watch also looks smaller than the numbers suggest. Busy dials compress visually; plain dials at the same size read larger.

Movement and water resistance

The Greca Logo uses a quartz chronograph movement. Quartz means accuracy of a few seconds a month, no winding, and a battery change roughly every two to three years. It also keeps the watch thin, which matters on a 43mm chronograph.

Water resistance is rated at 5 ATM. In practice that means hand-washing, rain and splashes are fine; showering, swimming and diving are not. The rating is a pressure test result, not a depth guarantee — do not treat 5 ATM as "safe to 50 metres underwater".

How to style it

The grey and navy versions work with tailoring. The gold-and-black version is an evening watch: it pairs with a dark suit and looks wrong with gym wear. The green dial sits between the two — fine with a blazer, better without a tie.

Because the bracelet is steel, the watch can be resized by any jeweller for a small fee. If you plan to switch between leather and steel, check whether your reference has quick-release spring bars; not all do.

Versace vs Gucci vs Emporio Armani

All three are Italian, and all three sit in overlapping price bands, but they solve different problems:

  • Versace — the boldest. Choose it when you want the watch to be noticed.
  • Gucci — the most discreet. The G-Flat 30mm is closer to jewellery than to a sports watch.
  • Emporio Armani — the most restrained. The Tazio chronograph is the closest to a conventional dress chronograph of the three.

A useful rule: if you own no gold jewellery and dress mostly in navy, grey or black, the grey or navy Greca Logo will get worn more than the gold-and-black version — however good the latter looks in photographs.

Care and warranty

Wipe the case with a soft cloth after wear, avoid perfume contact, and keep the watch away from magnets — the clasp of a laptop bag or a phone speaker can affect a quartz movement's accuracy. Bracelets pick up scratches on the clasp first; that is normal and not a fault.

Every Versace watch at AVIPWATCH is new, covered by 30-day returns and a 2-year warranty for manufacturing and movement defects. Browse the full Versace collection, compare with other chronographs, or see all men's watches.
