Tommy Hilfiger Watches: A UK Buying Guide
Tommy Hilfiger is one of the easiest entry points into branded watches in the UK. Every model we stock sits at £129, which puts a steel chronograph with a two-year warranty inside the same budget as an unbranded high-street watch. The question is not whether it is good value — it is which of the three families fits your wrist and your wardrobe.
The three families you will actually see
Our range is built from three lines, and almost every reference number you see on this site belongs to one of them.
Daniel — the dress-casual core
The Daniel family (references 1710382 and 1710415 in our range) is the most restrained option: a clean dial, a modest bezel and a case that reads as a watch rather than a piece of branding. The plain Daniel is the one to buy if you want a single watch for work and weekends.
Baker — the chronograph line
Baker references (1710447, 1710448, 1710453) add pushers, sub-dials and a busier dial. These are the watches people picture when they think of Tommy Hilfiger: 44mm cases, tachymeter-style detailing and a slightly sporty stance. The Baker chronograph in black or blue is the most photographed watch in the collection for a reason — it looks considerably more expensive than £129.
Kane and Ryder — the colour options
Kane (1710402) and the Ryder green-dial (1710499) exist for people who already own a black-dial watch. A green or deep-blue dial is the cheapest way to make a watch collection look considered rather than accidental.
How a 44mm case actually wears
Most Tommy Hilfiger men's watches are 44mm across. That is genuinely large — on a 16cm wrist a 44mm case covers the entire flat of the wrist and overhangs slightly. On 17.5cm and above it sits correctly. If your wrist measures under 16.5cm and you are unsure, look at the Emporio Armani range instead, which runs closer to 42mm, or read our men's watch size guide before ordering.
The flip side is legibility. A 44mm dial with large applied markers is easy to read at a glance, which is why this size dominates the sub-£200 chronograph market.
What the specification really means
- Movement — quartz across the range. Accurate to a few seconds a month, and cheap to service.
- Water resistance — typically 5 ATM, which covers rain, hand-washing and splashes. Not swimming.
- Glass — mineral crystal. Harder to scratch than acrylic, softer than sapphire.
- Strap — leather or steel bracelet depending on reference. Both are standard-width fittings, so aftermarket straps are easy to find.
Which one to buy
If this is your only watch, take a plain Daniel in silver-tone with a black or white dial. If you want a watch that looks like it cost more, take the Baker chronograph in blue or black. If you are buying for someone else, the chronograph is the safer gift — the extra detail makes it feel like more of a present.
