Only Watch Preview
We have gathered the final selection of impressive watches up for bid during the Nov. 7 Only Watch auction in Geneva. Each piece in the full collection of forty-four one-of-a-kind watches donated from prestigious watch houses will be ready for the highest bidders. This is an incredible opportunity to bid on unique watches while supporting a worthwhile cause. The auction has been organized this year by Aurel Bacs and Phillips Auctions, the Association Monégasque Contre les Myopathies (AMM) and the Monaco Yacht Show, along with all the participating watch brands, to support the Monaco Association Against Muscular Dystrophy’s mission to fund research for neuromuscular diseases and Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

DEWITT ACADEMIA OUT OF TIME
This piece from the DeWitt Academia collection arrives in a gold 42.5mm case housing a manufactured DeWitt dead-beat seconds caliber. Its dead-beat seconds hand indicates the seconds function and serves as a regulator while at the 8 o’clock position is a free seconds hand. These innovative functions highlight the contrast between real time, shown at 4 o’clock, and virtual time that is freely flowing. Setting this piece apart from the balance of the collection is an artistic blue lacquered dial of a picturesque and mountainous landscape set against a starry night sky.
Melchior is a mechanical robot conceived in typical MB&F fashion–with friends. In this case those friends are designer Xin Wang and L’Epée 1839, a Swiss clock manufacture. This piece is a table clock with a unique blend of robotic characteristics appealing to the child in everyone. It offers high-end watchmaking features like a jumping hours, sweeping minutes and double-retrograde seconds. Melchior’s chest displays the hours and minutes while just below the amazing forty-day power reserve (driven by 5 mainspring barrels) is showcased. The regulator housed in the polished glass dome provides extreme precision to the table clock and plays the role of Melchior’s brain. This piece is the last of the limited series of 100 and is dressed in palladium-plated brass and steel with red highlights.
FREDERIQUE CONSTANT HOROLOGICAL SMARTWATCH
This model is equipped with the MotionX-365 and Sleeptracker technology to collect activity and sleep data to further incorporate your timepiece into your daily life. Included in this Only Watch package is an iPhone 6, which connects to timepiece for easy readability and access to the tracked data through the app. At a quick glance, the daily data is visible at 6 o’clock on the watch. The 42mm rose gold case houses quartz caliber MMT-285 with a battery that will last for more than two years. Completing the luxury style here is a special green dial with hand-applied rose gold indexes placed on a green alligator strap with a folding clasp in gold.
DeGRISOGONO NEW RETRO BLACK STRIPES
Embracing the style of the 1950s, the DeGrisogono New Retro Black Stripes focuses on the signature color of the house – black. The rose gold case features the crown at 12 o’clock and is fitted with two curved sapphire crystals making the sleek black dial appear as if it is floating. This distinct rectangular case is embellished along the backside with four rows of black diamonds. Completing the minimalistic look, this automatic watch simply expresses the hours and minutes while finished with a black crocodile strap.
This chiming timepiece features a white gold dial with a hand-engraved serpent devouring its own tail. This three-dimensional engraving is a symbol for eternal re-creation. The 40mm gold and palladium case features the firm’s patented autobloc system to secure the strap. Powering the hour and minute time display (along with the quarter repeater) is self-winding, manufacture caliber C.126 with a 35-hour power reserve. The wearer can press the pusher at 10 o’clock to chime the hours and quarter hours with two gongs.
CHRISTOPHE CLARET ESPOIR & PAIX
This timepiece pays tribute to all past Noble Peace Prize winners. Featured in the center of the watch is a vibrant green emerald representing hope. It’s set in a mirascope that creates an optical illusion that the emerald is more than twice its actual size. The names of all 129 Nobel Peace Prize winners are engraved along the 44mm white gold and titanium case. A likeness of Alfred Nobel, creator of the award for outstanding contributions in peace, is engraved on a black anodized aluminum oscillating weight visible through the caseback.
CHANEL MADEMOISELLE PRIVÉ
This elegant gold timepiece showcases the haute couture embroidery skills of the Lesage atelier to express Mademoiselle Chanel’s love for the camellia flower. Each of the three camellias on the dial is embroidered with chain stitches using metallic thread and knotted stitches of bright white silk thread and finished with a natural pearl. Complementing the poetic dial are 200 brilliant round diamonds.
CARL F. BUCHERER MANERO CHRONOPERPETUAL
A first time participant in the Only Watch auction, Carl F. Bucherer presents the Manero Chronoperpetual. This automatic CFB 1904 movement, with flyback chronograph, features a perpetual calendar indicating the date, day, month and moonphase, and it doesn’t requiring a manual adjustment until the year 2100. This grand complication is encased in a 42.5mm white gold case.
BREGUET TYPE XXI 3813
Made with a platinum case specifically for the Only watch auction, this aviation model is inspired by the vintage aviation watches of the French Military and equipped with a special flyback function featured on the original 1950s model. It allows instant zero resetting and restarting of the chronograph. For instant readability, the chronograph has a central minutes and seconds counter and an hour counter at 6 o’clock.
BOVET FLEURIER AMADEO FLEURIER 39 LADY BOVET
An exquisitely decorated white gold watch delivers a message of peace and hope while honoring women who give life, protect children and represent the future. This 39mm ladies watch is presented in the convertible Amadeo case easily transitioning without the need of a tool from a reversible wristwatch to a table clock or pendant necklace. The artistic beauty of this piece is highlighted on either side of the watch. The front features and off-centered dial with pink mother-of-pearl, guilloche and diamond markers while the back showcase a miniature painting of two white doves surrounded by vibrantly colored flowers.
BOUCHERON EPURE VAGUE DE LUMIÈRE
Inspired by the Japanese artist Hokusai and the Great Wave off Kanagawa, the dial highlights a wave sculpture that appears to shimmer with round and baguette diamonds. This 3-D feature is placed on aventurine glass, representing the sea. The 41mm white gold case is fitted with automatic caliber GP400 manufactured by Girard-Perregaux and powering the central hours and minutes.
